While going through some of her older writings, including her first book, Parenting for the New Millennium, Karen discovered something that surprised and delighted her. Although the name, the 1 Rule, is new, its foundation is not.
It is based on the same formula she used for over 40 years to create harmony, peace and respectful, caring relationships with kids. It is just distilled and simplified, making it simpler to explain, making it simpler for you to use.
The foundation is the same as the one learned by a mother who bought Friendly Families and the Power of Respect (the earlier version of Parenting for the New Millennium) one year at a Summer Arts Festival AND made it a point to tell Karen the next year at the Festival how much she and her four kids loved using what they learned in that book. She told Karen, "My kids are so nice now!"
